Geronimo was platted in 1902 along the old Rock Island line and stayed a small farm town for six decades. Growth picked up in the 1960s as Lawton and Fort Sill commuters started buying out here for the acreage and the quiet, and the town nearly tripled in population between 1960 and 1970. A lot of the housing stock reflects that: ranch houses and mobile homes on well and septic, built one lot at a time rather than as a single subdivision, which means every property tends to have its own quirks when a pipe or a roof fails.
We don't print a Geronimo address. Crews run out of the Lawton satellite, a short drive down Highway 65/281. Call (580) 574-2383 any hour; that's the same line for the satellite and Elgin headquarters.
