Chattanooga sits on a low hilltop where the wind rarely lets up, which locals will tell you before you ask. Founder N. C. Sisson named the town for his Tennessee hometown in 1902, and a Rock Island branch line reached it the next year. The town has held around 400 to 450 residents for decades, with a small, older downtown along 3rd Street. Wind-driven damage to roofs and outbuildings is a routine call out here, along with the occasional grass fire that gets past a fence line in a dry, windy stretch.
There's no Dri Right storefront on Highway 36. We run this town from the Lawton office and Elgin headquarters. Call (580) 574-2383 any hour, and we'll tell you honestly how soon we can be there.
