Fletcher grew up around a shallow oil field discovered south of town in the 1930s and a gas field that followed east of it. Neither turned into a major boomtown, and since then Fletcher has mostly drawn people who work in Lawton or at Fort Sill and want small-town living on the commute. That leaves a mix of older oilfield-era homes near downtown and newer houses on the edges, plus rural acreage properties where a water or gas line runs a long way from the street to the house.
We don't have a Fletcher address. Crews run out of Elgin headquarters and the Lawton satellite. Call (580) 574-2383 any hour, day or night.
